Don't Wreck Highton Village

Over the past few months I have held street stalls in Highton, and heard from constituents their concerns about Council's plans to tear up and rebuild our much-loved Highton Village.

Some of these planned changes include demolishing the recently renovated Library, removing the iconic clock tower from Belle Vue Avenue, and building a four-story multiuse building looming over the Village.

Local activist Graham Hobbs, supported by local residents and the Highton Traders, have launched a petition calling on the Geelong Council to shelve these disruptive and drastic plans in favour of small, sensible upgrades to existing amenities. I am proud to host this petition on my website here.

If you also oppose the planned changes to the iconic Highton Village, please sign the community petition.

You can read Mr Hobbs' previous submissions here.
